John Maeda is an accomplished graphic designer, computer scientist and president of the presitgious Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). The second shoe is inspired by “Law 7 - Emotion” in Professor Maeda’s book The Laws of Simplicity. In it, he urges us to embrace our natural desire for personal meaning in everything we do. The shoe design is inspired by this motion intuition. The colours of the shoes are feminine and bold with a touch of adventure. Using Reebok’s Freestyle as his canvas, Professor Maeda’s handwritten code decorates the shoe’s lining and creates the digital paisley print, representing a burst of pure energy and emotion. Holographic straps bring this design to life with your every move, while the velvet-wrapped mid-sole and tongue-liner take the shoe to a new level of elegance. To throw everything into place the hot pink accents electrify this Reebok Freestyle.

Not that it is intentional, but I'm sure many women face this situation. How cool would it be if we had a personal reminder of sorts…like the LadyBag; it uses RFID tags to keep a track of the items you stuff into your bag. Should you miss out on your elusive keys; a related icon will appear on the LED screen. The LadyBag also displays how you are feeling, fidgety hands is read as nervousness and so a nervous looking emoticon appears. If you're hugging the bag close, a happy face appears.

Vanishing Nail Polish a boon for school kids

Necessity is the mother of invention they say, so a bunch of school kids who felt that make-up is necessary in spite of schools banning it have invented a nail varnish that disappears indoors (image after the jump) and turns a vivid red outdoors (as seen in above pic). The dramatic change is caused by a chemical reaction between the varnish and the ultraviolet light in natural sunlight. Pupils from Albion High School, Salford, have developed this "vanishing" color came up with the idea while working on an enterprise project with Paul Haywood and Sam Ingleson from Salford University's school of art and design.
