Barbie Music Phone is pretty in pink
Here's something pink for all you girls and it also has the Barbie tag to remind you of your childhood. It's a Barbie P520 is a clamshell phone. It is very sweet and pretty and comes with the doll's silhouette, the logo, and even a tag line declaring it the "Barbie Music Phone." The specs are rather standard and include a 1.3MP camera, up to 2GB of expandable memory, two SIM cards, MP3 and MP4 support and Bluetooth into a 60 x 63 x 21mm frame. However, it's best feature is that it comes with a touchscreen. Everyone wants a touchscreen these days! Of course, its originality can be questioned as it is based on Mattel's Barbie B2 mp3 player. Teddy Bears make their first flight into space
Astronaut teddy bears, does it get any cuter than that? I don't think so. Adorable bears, MAT and KMS made their first journey 18 miles above the earth in a four-hour exhibition dressed in the cutest space suits ever. These cuties from Mothercare were put on seats and attached to a weather balloon made by Cambridge University's Space Flight science club. They managed to survive the rough temperatures of -31C. Kids from Parkside and Coleridge community colleges played a role in this mission by helping out the scientists by designing suits to avoid the teddy bears from freezing. This is a first ever teddy bear space flight and it took place at Churchill College, Cambridge on Monday.
Most interesting calendars for 2009
With the New Year just around the corner, it's time to throw out the old calendar and bring in the new one. And for those of you who like calendars with a personality and not just any run of the mill affair, here's a list of 2009's favorite or at least pretty interesting calendars. You are welcome to disagree, but I can't see why you would. Saelee Oh and Jill Bliss calendar - $16 is a calendar, which sees these artists use water and staying afloat as the theme and it's called 'Gathered Together'. The Puzzle Calendar - $14 is made up of Lego pieces, so this certainly strikes my fancy. What is this life, but a puzzle? Botanical Paperworks plantable calendar - $24.95 is one calendar that helps you do your bit for the environment. At the end of every month you have to plant the seed embedded paper and watch your garden go green. Noa Bembibre Calendar - $35 is a date keeper. I'm not too convinced on this one, you can check it out for yourself.
'Sew your own wearable musical interface' workshop by Hannah Perner Wilson and Mika Satomi at DIY festival this year
The DIY festival organized by the Swiss Mechatronic Art Society, which takes place from Dec 5-7, 2008 in Zurich, Switzerland, is going to take creativity to another level. Thanks to the 'Sew your own wearable musical interface' workshop that will be conducted by Hannah Perner Wilson and Mika Satomi. This interesting workshop will introduce the participants to the wonders of e-textiles and the DIY concept of wearable technology. The workshop will start with participants taking apart cheap electronic musical toys and transforming them with the help of e-textile technologies into soft, wearable objects.To help the participants begin their designs, easy to follow circuit patterns will be provided with an introduction on how to transfer those e-textile circuits onto any piece of clothing that the participants bring with them.
