NEXT launches the $150 netbook that squeezes into your handbag

The unhealthy financial climate has encompassed one and all and the mellowed down rich lasses look for other alternatives in stead of their hefty laptops. Elonex, a small British computer maker has found that sought after alternative by planning to launch a new generation of cheap laptops from this February. The laptops measuring a sleek 7 inches easily fit into your handbag and sells only for $150. The company’s tie up with NEXT could help glamorize the product and promote it as a fashion accessory. Nick Smith, the Chief executive of Elonex has a valid point to put up, “Wherever you are, you have full access to anything on your home computer, but if you lose it in a train or bar, you have lost only $150 worth of you kit, not all your valuable photos and documents.”
Asia gets Red and Blue PSPs

There's some good news for gamers, especially those who love their handhelds. It seems that Sony Computer Entertainment Asia is feeling mighty generous this new year as they have announced two new colors for the PSP. PSP-3006s will now also be available in "Radiant Red" and "Vibrant Blue." I love the red shade; it's seriously hot. The new striking shades will be available from January 15 at a price $177 in Asia. Happy New Year from Sony!
Datalog Calendar for the year 2009

Datalong Calendar 2009 is rather interesting. It is a bilateral affair that has been printed on translucent paper. Both sides of the paper are interdependent. The front shows a calendar for 2009 while the back is another story that has statistical data of the Codeluxe studio from the past year. In the end, the effect is rather useful to know the inherent structure of working methods and processes of Codeluxe in 2008.
Bookmark Bedside Lamp for Bookworms

I can't stop raving about gadgets for lazy people. Here is another cool design concept, which if manufactured will be a blessing for all bookworms. Known as the Bookmark Bedside Lamp, it is a simple concept that combines a night lamp with a bookmark. Like you can see in the picture, the lamp has as a spot that sticks out to hold the place in your book. A great alternative to dog-ear marking or folding the pages, this concept is superb. Imagine the time it will save to go looking for a bookmark! I can already picture this lamp in every nook and corner of my home (cause I read more than 1 book at a time).

Besides pink the other colors include red, blue, and purple. Great designs, they are not only unique but also very stylish.
CES 2009: Soothe you LCD sore eyes with the Gunnar Optiks Glasses

‘Eye red’ syndrome is a common observation which comes from staring at the computer or TV for hours. Not that it is an extant term in the medical world, but it is something that happens to most people almost everyday. Getting a headache, dry eyes and blurred vision are some of the common symptoms of the Digital Eye Fatigue (DEF, and that is a permissible term) or Computer Vision syndrome. Those inflicted by this occurrence can try out a pair from the Gunnar Optiks, which are glasses that aim to soften the blow from looking at the LCD for long hours.

Condom USB: Safety cum software

Have you counted the number of PC’s in which you have inserted your flash drive and exchanged data as well as viruses? The viruses travel from Internet cafes to home to work and uncountable thereafter. By the time you try to get to the source of this virus, it has successfully destroyed quite a considerable part of your data. This is a very common story to tell amongst all those who jack in their Pen drive thousand times a day. The Condom USB is an extra peripheral that can be onto any USB device, ensuring safety of your device and data.

Jigsaw puzzles shaped like snacks in Japan

The Japanese have always made the world look on in fascination at their crazy trends. It's funny to see how they name their snacks. For example, they've turned an ordinary name like Carl into the most 'yummiest' snack ever. Makes you wonder what Carl tastes like? Cheesy, very! A mouth watering nipple-shaped strawberry chocolate is called Apollo. So, now they are naming chocolate nipples after Greek gods? But check this out. They actually have jigsaw puzzles shaped like snacks! How bizarre is that. I'd be feeling super hungry every time I tried to put together the puzzle. How I love the Japanese and their deliciously strange ideas.
Be weighed on your toilet seat

This is the most unique toilet seat I've come across so far this year. It actually has a built-in digital scale. I don't know if it's a good idea or not. You can weigh yourself on it before doing the deed and check how much you weigh after. Does this really serve any purpose though? Except for knowing how much you had eaten the previous day of course. Well, I guess Haikun Deng, the creator of this toilet seat scale thinks it's a good idea at least.
CoreBra by Adaptawear is a genius design

I truly respect people who take the time and effort to invent gadgets that help the disabled as well as senior citizens of our nation. The CoreBra by Adaptawear, with the assistance of Coventry University's Health Design and Technology Institute is another such effort to simplify the lives of these people. Designed by Adaptawear's director, Kavita Chauhan, it is a fitted bra that gives a woman a shapely silhouette without her having to twist her arms around her back to fasten it up. The magnetic hooks and loops are especially great for those who have occupational injuries from repetitive movement and restricted hand or arm positions.
