The Floating Garden by Duende Studio is more convenient than an aquarium

Aquariums are great as decorative pieces as well as being of therapeutic value. But the Floating Garden concept by Duende Studio takes this a step further. At the moment it is a limited edition prototype and it will only be available next year for purchase. It is a miniature ecosystem created by designer Benjamin Graindorge for small homes and spaces. He has only used aquaponics and a gravel-based filtration system which is 100% natural. This eliminates the problem of taking care of the waste in aquariums. Gravel-based filtration allows water to seep through a 2" layer of sand. Also, bacteria and larger impurities will be taken away as well as nitrogen, which in turn will become a nitrate. Due to aquaponics, roots of the water-based plants will use the nitrates to grow. Then the water is recirculated through the aquarium properly. This is a really nice concept as the plants use the waste of the aquarium for their benefit. The Floating Garden looks great as well.

Sony's PS3 motion controller video as demonstrated at E3

First came the Wii to take the market by a storm, then came Microsoft's Project Natal, so why should Sony be left behind right? Sony has jumped on the motion sensor bandwagon too. E3 witnessed Sony's PS3 motion controller prototype. Firstly, let me just say that it looks extremely strange. Secondly, it doesn't seem to be as simple or basic as the Wiimote or as amazing as Natal. It's stuck somewhere in between the two devices. The sphere at the top of the controller is its biggest selling point and I can't say that it's very impressive. However, it looks extremely accurate. I suppose its color changing abilities might appeal to some, only time will tell. . That time will come in 2010, as that's when it is slated to release. Any thoughts on Sony's motion controller? Check out the video, especially the archery gameplay. Let's hope Sony comes up with great games to utilize the precision of its newest technology.

Hands free Xbox 360 unveiled at E3 by Microsoft
The motion-sensing system codenamed "Project Natal" allows players to kick a virtual football or pull an imaginary trigger. This is compatible with the Xbox 360 machine. Of course, we can agree that Nintendo came up with the idea first, but now it is going to have a big rival. E3 gaming expo in Los Angeles saw the announcement of this. It makes use of a camera and sensors to calculate the distance of a player from the TV and then builds up a three-dimensional map of their movements. Unlike the Wii, it doesn't require participants to hold a controller in their hand to replicate actions on screen. It is also responsive to voice commands and facial expressions. Steven Spielberg unveiled Natal. He said: "The next step in interactive entertainment is to make the controller disappear. With this device, we'll see games that bring everyone together through technology that actually recognises us. espite the size of the industry, 60 per cent of households do not own a videogame console. The only way to bring interactive entertainment to everybody is to make the technology invisible."
