Driving Gloves : A new fashion trend for this season

driving-gloves.jpg
Since I've been hitting the gym, I know I'm in some major need of training gloves. However, since I don't drive, I'm really not sure if driving gloves are a necessity. Maybe all the female drivers reading this article can brief me in on the need of them. However, necessity or not, they seem to be a new trend this season. Carolina Amato is responsible for the pretty tulip pink driving gloves. Rumor has it that they are going to be quite a hit with the celebrity divas. So if you like to mirror what your idols do, then you should consider pre-ordering these latest fashion accessories. Personally, I'm not quite biting into the idea yet as my priority is training gloves!

Stay connected to Facebook via Samsung's pretty pink B3310 slider phone

samsung-b3310.jpg
I don't want to be an advocate of everything pink, but sometimes the girly girl in me just cannot resist the temptation of this ultra feminine color. The Samsung B3310 is obviously designed for the ladies with its focus on social networking and pretty pink. Some good news is that it's apparently the cheapest QWERTY phone for Facebook ever. So you can start typing away all the gossip you want via this phone on Facebook or Twitter or other sites you use. It features a full keyboard, a 2-inch screen as well as direct hot keys to Facebook and MySpace. Don't feel too let down on the music front as it does include an FM Radio. So with this baby, a girl is all set unless you think social networking sites are overrated (and believe me, I will understand if you are one of those people). The Samsung B3310 will be up grabs at the Carphone Warehouse next month on pay as you go for $80. By the way, did I mention that it's a slider phone? Pulls at all the right strings, doesn't it?

Tweezerman and Agatha Ruiz De La Prada brings us a funky Designer Series of tweezers

agatha-tweezerman-1.jpg
If you belong to the fairer sex and groom yourself even in the slightest, you must be well aware of the powers that tweezers possess. This essential beauty tool is being presented to you better and more stylized and fashion-focused than ever before. You might have heard of Tweezerman's signature slant tweezers which has now teamed up with Ruiz De La Prada. The result is, of course, a high end and elite Designer Series. I simply love how pretty yet bold the tweezers look with patterns like Magenta Hearts, Blue Clouds and Orange Flowers. Eliminating stray hairs is going to be a fashionable experience. These limited edition tweezers can be yours for $25 each over at Sephora. Also, the launch of this collaboration of beauty tools and fashion will take place on 8 September 2009 at the Agatha Ruiz De La Prada Soho store in New York City. I'm all for this partnership.

Keep track of time with the Cube Timer

the-cube-timer.jpg
I tend to get lost in all the numerous activities I take up and find it super hard to manage time. Be it my reading or daydreaming or working out, I simple can't keep a track of time. I'm constantly being bombarded about this by my friends and family. However, I'm hoping the Cube Timer will come to my rescue. All you have to do is place the side with the number of minutes you desire on top, and the countdown begins. Also, place zero on top to keep timer inactive between use. The options available are 5, 10, 15, 30, & 60 minutes. So for absent minded people and multi-taskers this is perfect I'd say. I'm going to give it a shot and if any of you have, do let me know your feed-backs or you are welcome to give me suggestions on other time management options as well!

Nutritional Facts Scale helps you maintain a healthy diet

Nutritional_Facts_Scale.jpg
We have body composition machines to check if we are fit and right. A lot of this depends on the food we eat, so how do we know if the food going in our tummies is good enough? That's where the Nutritional Fact Scale lends you a helping hand. It's more or less impossible to know the nutritional facts of a food item unless it's packaged and even then how can you be fully sure? But this handy device here displays 10 key elements of the food you weigh on it including carbs, calories, calories from fat, protein, sodium, cholesterol and more. This is sure to give you a boost for staying on your diet or at the least, it will make you guilty about eating junk food. It has a database of over 999 different foods, plus a memory that will accommodate 99 of your more exotic delicacies. It comes with a stainless steel platform for easy cleaning and stain resistance. It's available for $60. Since I've turned into something of a fitness freak, this is something that can be my cooking companion. I wonder if I should weigh all those chocolates I gobble up on this baby? Probably not!

Adorable My Doraemon Robot to keep your company

My_Doraemon_Robot.jpg
You might not be able to have RIFA run around with you, because it is created for hospitals, but My Doraemon robot is very cute and you can take him everywhere with you. Unfortunately it can't walk, but it sure does make up for that. I mean ten different eye expressions, a 1300 word vocabulary, and sensors letting it know if you're behind it so it can turn its head to salute you is pretty amazing in my books. Have a chat with it and it's likely to respond. If you turn off a light, it will tell you good night, if the room is too hot it will say, “Wow it's hot in here” due to its heat and light sensors which sounds really clever and novel, I'm all for the geeky cuteness that this little robot has in abundance. It certainly beats having a pet, at least you won't have to take it for a walk! You can buy it for $340 here.

The UFO lamp is not so alien when it perches by your bedside

ufo-lamp.jpg
The Star Wars and ET have managed to stir up our fad for UFO’s and space ships. Of course, these aren’t so much necessary when the fake newspaper reports could do the trick for many of us. It still remains a ‘flight of the imagination’ which you could have in the comfort of your home. Here’s a bedside lamp for $24, shaped like an Unidentified Flying Object, which could lull you off to sleep each night. If you find all UFO-like stuff cool, you might take a fancy for the UFO webcam or the UFO juicer as well.

Shoe cell phone holder is hideous and unnecessary

shoe_phone_holder.jpg
If you were given a choice to place your cell phone on a decent cell phone stand or a shoe, what would you choose? I reckon, it would be the former for most sane headed people. But there is a company called “Perfect Solutions” that has come up with a Shoe Cell Phone stand, not to mention an absolutely gruesome one, which I have seen on the feet of ‘morally disoriented’ women at the sidewalk. It comes with built-in channel for recharging, is that much of a selling point? Shoe cell phone holder is avilable For $19 at Amazon.

Hello Kitty Bird Feeder is adorable

Hello_Kitty_Bird_Feeder.jpg It seems quite strange that a cat should help in feeding a bird, because usually the bird ends up being the cat's feed! However, our feline friend, Hello Kitty is above such petty cat behaviour. That's why we have a Hello Kitty Ceramic Bird Feeder. You can most likely use it to feed your pet bird or you can hang it in your garden or balcony for stray birds. Either way, it's really cute. You can use the Hello Kitty Camera to take pictures if any rare birds happen to stop by. You can get it here for $11.

Wonder Woman Reebok Sneakers bring out the super woman in you

Reebok_woman_sneakers.jpg
I've always wanted to be a super heroine, but I'm not one of those weirdos who will walk around in elaborate and in-your-face super hero costumes. I'll save that only for Halloween. However, I would subtly like to remind the world that I'm indeed a wonder woman on a daily basis. And these funky Wonder Woman Reebok Sneakers are made just for that. Firstly, let me tell you that they look absolutely snazzy and hot. There's no doubt that you are going to look ultra cool with your feet in these babies. I mean sure, you could slip your feet into the Chain Shoes to stand out in a crowd, but these sneakers will provide you style along with comfort. So if you ever get the chance to snag a pair, don't pass it up. It's bound to impress your nerdy boyfriend like Summer did to get Seth's attention on the O.C.

RIBA: The cute and adorable teddy bear robot nurse

RIBA_robot_nurse.jpg
As far as men are concerned, nurses equal to the image of hot women. Thank god, I'm not a man, so I can appreciate RIBA, the cute robot nurse. RIBA is short for Robot for Interactive Body Assistance” and it has been created by researchers at Japan’s Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) and Tokai Rubber Industries, Ltd. (TRI). Its main purpose is to assist nurses by lifting patients in and out of their beds and wheelchairs and toilets as well. However, you do have to be under the weight of 61 kilos for this 180 kilos robot to be able to lift you. It's a cute device that comes with long, multi-jointed arms embedded with an array of tactile sensors that help it optimize the lifting and carrying of humans and its body is covered in a soft skin molded from an advanced lightweight urethane foam developed by TRI. This makes sure the patients are comfortable. It's really cool that using visual and audio data from its surroundings, RIBA can identify co-workers, determine the position of those nearby, and respond flexibly to changes in the immediate environment.

Spilling drinks and messy hands no more a problem with RM-Z3SD, Sony’s Drip Proof Universal Remote

sony_rm-z3Sd.jpg
As blessed as I'm to live with some of the most amazing people on this planet, they also happen to be the clumsiest. So we are all dropping and spilling things together. This means that we do need a plethora of spill/drip proof objects around the house. You might be only too aware of this situation if you have children running around your home. So for people like me who live with grown up babies or for parents, the RM-PZ3SD, Sony’s latest cute universal drip proof remote is a perfect device. It can sustain greasy hands, spilt milk, sodas and anything else you throw its way. It's a nightmare to host a party and know that people are going to absolutely ruin your remote with their messy hands and drinks! Not anymore though. I like the pink remote, but if you want something that's less feminine and cute, there's white, black or blue to go for.

Bed Made EZ to smooth out all the wrinkles on beds

Bed_Made_EZ.jpg
I'm going to let you in on a secret, I almost fall under the OCD category when it comes to wrinkles, especially wrinkled bed sheets. And it doesn't help matters that I'm a terrible home maker and need to rely on others to make me a wrinkle-free, smooth bed. Bed Made EZ looks like it's going to provide me some much needed aid however. It inserts without any hassle between box spring and mattress, lifting as it slides in. It has been created to reduce strain to the back, neck, and shoulders associated with the repeated lifting of heavy mattresses, so it's quite perfect for hotels to get for their room service staff and a somewhat delicate housewife! The feature that pulls me to it is that it can be used to tuck in linens. It's available for $30 at ComfortHouse.
