“Our Daily Bread”: A fun and nutritional project

London Designers at the Hector Serrano Studio had recently organized a workshop, which they directed for industrial design graduates at the university Cardenal Herrara in Valencia, Spain. The workshop assumed more of a practical venture than a theoretic one as it aimed to generate designs based on social observations. The first image is that of the perfect bread loaf that should accompany a boiled egg. The second is a baguette baked with some extra portion for the hungry kids on empty stomach, who go out and buy bread as instructed by their moms. The third is bread shaped like a teething ring set which also doubles as a baby’s dummy. The fourth image is that of a bread hook, which supposedly could be hung under the arm; it isn’t so appetizing but the least we could do is appreciate the interesting idea.
Giant pink bunny rests in Italy

I'm not a fan of teddy bears, so the Teddy Bear Speakers didn't catch my fancy. But I do like other stuffed animal toys, especially if they are big and soft and cuddly and pink and bunnies. So when I heard a little birdie tell me about a giant pink rabbit in Italy, I was more than just a little intrigued. I thought I was in for waves and waves of warm and fuzzy feelings running through me. Boy, was I wrong! Nothing could have prepared me for this ginormous pink rabbit in Artesina, a small little village in Piemonte made by artists of Gelitin Art Collective over a period of 5 long knitting filled years. It's a great feat no doubt, but the bunny itself is so ugly and looks deformed. It's like the stuffed toy's response to the Great Wall of China. It's absolutely mammoth, take a look at the pictures. I would've made a point to go visit it, if it didn't look this hideous. It's going to be in the Italian village (famous for it's wine) for 20 years. So forget a trip to the Mecca, pack your bags and head over to the big, ugly, deformed, fuzzy bunny.
Hello Kitty vinyl figure glows in the dark

Usually I'm the first one to praise Hello Kitty like there's no tomorrow. I have a huge collection of Hello Kitty items ranging from the useful to the useless. So obviously, if I stumble upon anything related to this cat, my heartbeat is going to go faster. But this Hello Kitty vinyl figure doesn't do much for me. It features Caperino & Peperone from Kuntzel+Deygas as special imprints on the toy that only appear when the lights are off. I suppose the glow in the dark bit is pretty cool. I've seen cooler Hello Kitty items like the Hello Kitty Sony Ericsson W395 phone and the strange but unique Jihadist Hello Kitty Plush though. So this seems a little lacking in lustre to me. Anyway, I, not speaking in the favor of Hello Kitty is blasphemous, so I'll stop and point you in the direction of the Hello Kitty x Caperino & Peperone Figure. It's available for $89 here.
Racing Car Clock for might speed up time

You can't beat time, but you can at least give that a shot with this Racing Car Clock. It's a really cool time piece for all those are into Hot Wheels or Formula Racing. I remember my brother's massive Hot Wheels collection when we were little and with his birthday coming up, I'm sure he'll appreciate this clock. The style is sleek and minimalistic. The extended red minute hand makes the car racing around the clock. That's a totally fun effect. I would love to have it mounted on my wall, because it brings back childhood memories. It's the perfect gift for a car loving man in your life who is trying to juggle time constantly! You can buy it for $44 at Gessato. Who knows, maybe the racing car will actually speed up those long boring days! In case, you like subtle and simple yet stylish designs, try the Peek Clock.

ECG Necklace: The new way to continuously monitor your heart

It's true when they say health is wealth. As long as you have health on your side, there's nothing to stop you. It's most important to make sure that your heart is healthy and to make it easy for you to keep a check on your most vital organ, the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, IMEC has introduced a new prototype cardiac monitoring system. It is an ECG necklace that gives you long term ambulatory readings to get a full picture of a patient's cardiac electrophysiological health, all while running on a set of batteries for up to seven days. I won't go into the technical specifications of how it was made, because I doubt more than a few of us our engineers. However, rest assured, this is a good way to make sure you are fit and healthy, so keep it close to your heart!
iPod gets revamped at lower prices

iPod and Apple fans have a reason to rejoice, because the iPod Classic just got upgraded to 60GB for the old price of $250. The good news doesn't end there, the Shuffles are now priced at $59 for 2GB, $79 for 4GB. They come in a range of colors that include black, silver, pink, green and blue. There's also a Special Edition version for the 4GB available in stainless steel, which weighs more but is bound to make your iPod stand out. Due to a slightly different manufacturing process, the price of this is bumped up by $20. You don't have to wait, because all of these start shipping today itself. You can team up your iPod with this pretty Butterfly Dock to give it a feminine touch.
Plop yourself in a Pac-Man chair

I'm a huge fan of Pac-Man, show me anything Pac-Man related and I'll be your friend forever. If you are a gamer then this “PacM Chair” designed by Jose Jorge Hinojosa will look really nice in your gaming den. The chair looks like Pac-Man is extremely hungry and ready to gobble up whoever happens to plunk themselves on it. I love the bright yellow and it takes me right back to my arcade gaming days. I might not be as yummy as a video game cherry, but I'm sure Pac-Man wouldn't mind chewing me up. I don't know how comfortable the chair will be, but I'm guessing this wasn't designed with comfort as a top priority. If you like Pac-Man too, you must check out the Pac-Man Mini Cooper, that's a hot ride.
Sheilas' Wheels 'KeyRing' uses a gemstone to open your car

I'm infamous for losing keys. Such mundane things like keys and phones, always seem to slip my mind and I leave them behind. But what if the key was attached to me? I couldn't possibly lose it then. Sheilas’ Wheels has invented a car key disguised as a cocktail ring which is perfect for absent minded yet fashion conscious people. It seems that women spend over 416 hours in their lifetimes (or two and a half weeks) looking for keys. I don't find that hard to believe, especially with all the junk we pack in our purses. With this KeyRing, you can lock and unlock a car door simply by pressing the ring’s gemstone. After that you can get in the car and find your standard car keys. I think I'd simply leave them in the glove compartment every time to avoid confusion. With this KeyRing, there's no chance of being locked out of your car! Also, opening the car door with a gemstone has a magical and fairytale feel to it. Do take a look at the USB Flash Drive Swarovski Ring too for getting an idea about how quirky and innovative rings are getting these days.
Leave annoying video messages on your fridge with the Digital Video Memo

I'm used to 'Post-It' notes on my fridge, but I've never yet come across a digital message. I'd find that a little annoying like video blogging. Also, for a little background, I prefer books over movies. So, it doesn't sit well with me when someone tries to replace written words with moving images! But I'm sure the Digital Video Memo is going to be ever so popular. It's a mini fridge magnet with a screen and integrated camera. Just stick it on your fridge and leave a short message. It might be a fun way to give orders to your friends and family. However, if they leave me an order via a video message, they are going to be in some serious trouble. You can buy it for $36.50, so it's not too expensive. It will be available at IWOOT, but after two weeks. So get this and annoy your family to death with incessant video messages. It might be romantic to come home and receive an ultra sweet message from your guy complete with a digital kiss!
Teddy Bear Speakers to rock your world

Of all the pink and girly thing I like, I've never been a fan of teddy bears. I feel they are too conventional, but I'm fully aware of what a big hit they are with girls. So here are some mini Teddy Bear speakers for your listening pleasure. They look cute enough, but they don't have any eyes! That's a little bit strange. You can easily attach them to your purse or gym bag for a small portable and cute way to travel with speakers. I'm sure they will turn out to be conversation starters as well. They are available in six fun colors at Rinkya for $21.50. If you want a little more animal inspired 'geekiness' in your life, check out the Piggy USB Necklace.
Jump and bounce without worry on the Safer Exercise Trampoline

I absolutely love trampolines, the kid in me still loves to jump and bounce around. Although, this exercise trampoline is designed for those with limited mobility or special needs, it makes me want to try it out. The safe, low-impact workout machine is created by George Nissen, father of the modern day trampoline. The user is safely enclosed within a padded 3/4 hoop attached to the apparatus' support rails. This is very helpful to improve balance, build strength, and increase aerobic fitness, while being gentle on joints. For added safety, there is a circular cover attached securely to the durable steel frame to prevent feet from getting tangled in the trampoline's springs. It can take the weight of up to 200 lbs. Also, it can be stored easily due to removable handrails. It's a little heavy on the pocket at $200. You can get it from Hammacher.
Hello Kitty ‘Fun in the fields’ Mimobot
It’s Hello Kitty's 35th Anniversary this year and she just can’t help squealing over it. She already celebrated the wonderful occasion through her Hello Kitty x MIMOBOT in red that released last month. This time, it’s another cute Hello Kitty Mimobot called as ‘Fun in Fields’ The Flash drive is available in capacities of 2GB-8GB, which is lesser as compared to the 16GB capacity of the former one. The Mimobots are available in a price range of $25-$50, depending on the capacity. If you like the clean-n-green Hello Kitty, you could pre-order it as it will launch on September 15th.
Pamper your baby with a Baby Jacuzzi
I wasn't aware that babies need hot tubs. I was under the impression that they were more than happy with their cradles, milk bottles and pacifiers. That goes to show how little I know about babies! It seems that this baby “hot tub” by Spa Baby is definitely on a baby's wish list. Honestly, this so called Jacuzzi looks nothing more than a fancy bucket to me. It's supposed to mimic what it would feel like to be in the womb and this apparently soothes and calms babies. If you need a hot tub for your precious baby, go for this bucket.
