Refinity defines the new eco fashion trend

refinity-1.jpg
Eco-fashion seems to in vogue these days. This trend now includes “Fragmented” clothing that features customizable snap-on pieces, requires no sewing, and reduces textile waste. A good example of this emerging style are the Refinity Square Dress and Star Skirt based on a click/fold assembly system that allows you to wear the same garment in countless ways, alter its design on demand, as well as wash or replace the parts separately. The designers of this innovative new style are Fioen van Balgooi and Berber Soepboer. This clothing comes in beautiful vibrant colors and resembles a jigsaw puzzle. To create an interlocking skirt or dress, the square- and star-shaped modules are pieced together via small slices in the wool, which eliminates the need for yarn. You can find this collection showcased at the Beyond Green, Good Design symposium gallery at the World Fashion Centre in Amsterdam.

Galaxy Dress will light up your world

LED_Galaxy_Dress_main.jpg
I'm not the biggest fan of LED dresses, because although I like to stand out in a crowd, I don't like to stand out so obviously. It makes me feel like a Glow Worm or Firefly or something. Check out the ‘Galaxy Dress’ it claims to be the largest wearable display in the world and will be the center piece of an exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. It's the most colorful LED display you can have on your body. “We used the smallest full-color LEDs, flat like paper, and measuring only 2 by 2 mm,” say designers Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz in an email. “The circuits are extra-thin, flexible, and hand embroidered on a layer of silk in a way that gives it stretch so the LED fabric can move like normal fabric with lightness and fluidity.” The duo run an interactive clothing company called CuteCircuit. This dress also has four layers of silk chiffon and a pleated silk organza crinoline skirt. The lights run on many iPod batteries. Where you don't see the flash of LED lights, you will see the glitter of more than 4000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals that range from clear crystal to bright pink. The lights will run on the batteries for about an hour.

Keep warm with the USB Dinosaur Warmer Slipper

thanko_dinosaur_slippers3.jpg
It's winter and my feet tend to get really really cold. Sometimes socks just don't cut it for me, so I need something a little more elaborate. In comes the USB Dinosaur Warmer Slipper. It's not a novel concept, but the design sure is. I love the adorable and huge paw. Only problem is that I'm usually used to putting my feet in two separate slippers and not one gigantic paw. Oh well, I suppose it's acquired taste. You can buy one at GeekStuff4U.com.

The Shocking Liar reveals all lies

Shocking_Liar.jpg
Do you want your karmic aura to be analysed? Then you must turn to the Shocking Liar device. What it does is decipher your DNA helix and then delivers a nice juicy electric shock every time you tell a lie in response to a question. If this doesn't force someone into speaking the truth, I don't know what will! So if you are compulsive liar, you'd better stay away from this gizmo. My policy is ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies. So I'm not gonna be buying this one. To find out the truth, you'll have to shell out $32. But the real question is, can you handle the truth?

Chumby One is an adorable and retro alarm clock

Chumby_One.jpg
I am a huge fan of the retro look and this Chumby One clock sports just that. It's an adorable clock that looks like an old radio clock. It's pretty cool as it comes loaded with tonnes of features like a cute touchscreen, USB port, mono speaker, 2GB internal memory and li-ion battery. I suppose it's a little too much for an alarm clock, but this is for those like to compromise on nothing and have everything. Chumby One will set you back by $100 for a limited time and then the price tag will change to $120.

Water Powered Clock can be your new project

Water_Powered_Clock .jpg Anything that is powered by water gets a thumbs up from me, unless of course you are stuck in a drought region! Then anything water powered will turn out to be an epic fail. Anyway if water isn't available to you, this clock can also run on ketchup to toothpaste and cola. I think water will be my first option however. This unique kit helps you create a nontraditional, functional clock. I'm really digging the idea. You can get your hands on it at UrbanOutfitters for $22.

Triumph brings us an innovative Golfing Bra

golf_bra.jpg
I had no idea that female golfers require a special bra, maybe because they don't. However, my opinion doesn't matter because we have the new Golf Bra by Triumph. This bra resembles a golfing mat and once removed it functions as a real mat. Quite a playful idea I must say. So if you girls want to woo rich, old golf playing men, you know what to wear. I think I'm going to steer clear of this bra. Bring on some lacy lingerie, I'm sure that works better.

The grass is always greener on a mouse?

grass_mouse.jpg
The grass is always greener on the other side, but how green is the grass when it is on your mouse? I don't know why you'd want grass to decorate your mouse unless you belong to the Green Peace Campaign. However, Japanese artist Hanaoka likes to cover objects in grass, it's his strange hobby. This time around it's the turn of a poor computer mouse. If you love this concept, you can have him cover other things with this green goodness as well. I think I'm going to have to say pass to this one.
