Auvio Pearl Buds Pretty-N-Pink review

Auvio_Pearl_Buds.jpg The Auvio Pearl Buds arrived just in time when my old earphones stopped playing my favorite numbers from my iPod. The Pretty n Pink version did succeed in wooing my teen too. Packed neatly in a blue box, this set of earphones sport a petite round shape that can snuggle in the tiniest of the ears with ease. Offering three sizes of silicon tips, the earphones certainly look promising. However it’s the acoustic quality that I am keener to inspect. All things bright and beautiful may not necessarily serve comparable purpose. So I immediately plugged them into my iPod and let the MJ numbers flow through. Since his death, MJ songs tops my playlist of most-listened-songs. Ever heard about ‘absence makes a heart fonder’? Anyways, let’s talk about the Pink pearls of Auvio for now. Honestly I was expecting brilliant output. Though not pathetic, the sound quality is tolerable when compared to its price tag (about $15). The technical features include 22-19,000Hz frequency response, 96dB plus/minus 5dBsensivity and 16 ohms impedance. The in-ear desing also helps to reduce, not eliminate, outside noise disturbance. Also specially designed iPhone compatible 24k gold-plated 1/8” plug can fit recessed headphone jacks. Finally I can sum it up by saying that the Pretty N Pink Auvio Pearl Buds will satisfy not-so quality conscious female consumers with its performance and of course cute pink color.

NES controllers make a comeback with a Super Mario paint job

nes-controller-mario-luigi.jpg
I know this is the era of the next generation consoles, but we cannot possibly forget the NES that we spent so many hours with. As a tribute or a token of our appreciation, it looks like some rather cool NES Controllers have been uncovered. I love the custom painted Super Mario and Luigi on the front. That sums up the highlight of that decade. These babies are the work of RicePuppet. The paint job is reminiscent of street art or graffiti. This gives the old school controllers a nice, new spark. I'd love yo get my hand on one of these controllers to show my love for Nintendo and the world of Super Mario.

Sport the Tetris Bracelet to let out your geeky colors

tetris-bracelet.jpg
I'm a big fan of old school gaming and Tetris is a name synonymous with that. Anything that allows me to showcase my love for the bricks game is a hit in my books, especially when it is as chic as this. The Tetris Bracelet is a great geeky accessory to add to your collection. Lucite jewelery is quite hot according to me as it reminds me of the disco era. This bracelet can be teamed up with any casual outfit to look trendy yet geeky. It is available for $70 here. It says 'Game Over', but with Tetris you keep wanting more.

Taga Trike better is better than a traditional stroller

tagabike-thumb.jpg
The traditional stroller can be quite troublesome with all the effort it needs from your side. Who wants to walk around so much right? So, there's something to let you pedal away if walking is not your preferred mode of transport. It's called the Taga Trike that is a pedal powered stroller with space for your children. It is quite convenient due to its many features like lots of attachments, including setups for two kids, covered seats for rainy days, and shopping baskets. A neat thing about it is that it can be folded up and packed into a car. It has adjustable length which is very useful. You get a clear view of your kids since they sit at the front and this allows you to keep an eye on them. Unfortunately, it is only available in Europe at the moment.

Handheld Portable Toaster by Been Kim is a handy device

croppedtoast_1.jpg
Designer Been Kim has come up with something rather unique and that is the handheld portable toaster. What you do is hold your piece of bread in your hand and roll this handy/crazy device over it to toast that side. It works just like a fancy butter knife. It comes with an LCD readout on the back that tells you how well or lightly your bread is toasted. Apparently, this is only a concept that is wireless and uses a cord-free charging system. It's definitely a very convenient concept, especially if you are always late for school/work and eat your breakfast on the go. The design looks fantastic with pretty butterflies.

A Bra saves a woman from gunshot

bulletproofbra_.jpg
A woman in Detroit has just proved that you don’t need fancy bullet proof clothes to survive a gun shot. The lady was miraculously saved when the metal underwire in her bra deflected the shot fired during a break-in at a neighbor’s home! The 57 year old lady is grateful to her lingerie that saved her life when she peered out of her window on hearing the sound of the gun shot. According to cops, one of the robbers took a shot and the slug smashed through the window and bounced off her bra! The robbers fled after the shooting. Whether they were terrified by the sight of a bullet bouncing off the chest of a woman or thought they were soon going to be caught by the ‘super woman’ is still unknown. I bet the entire incident spooked both the victim as well as the robbers! Don’t be surprised if lingerie makers take this opportunity to create some bullet proof collections with this 57 year old as the brand ambassador.

PANASONIC_MASSAGE_CHAIR_1.jpg
Massage chairs are soothing and relaxing, there's no doubt about that. Unfortunately, most of them look so drab and generic. Luckily, Panasonic has launched two new massage chairs in Japan, the EP-MS40 and EP-MS10 which are quite different from what you usually see. They have a design that will suit the style of any home. In fact, this massage chairs resemble sofas. They are available in many colors ranging from green and black, vanilla and black, light and dark brown and ivory, brown and vanilla. D-roll laptop design turns notebooks into scrolls

D-roll-laptop-concept-by-Hao-Hua.jpg
Designer Hao Hua seems to have some very innovative ideas concerning the future of laptops. Take for instance the D-roll, or "digital roll," that is "next generation laptop design." The computer will no longer look like a notebook, instead it will resemble a scroll. I don't know if this is a real possibility, but Hua certainly put a lot of effort in the design. The D-roll will definitely be more portable and mobile. It will include a detachable webcam you could use on the computer or wear on your wrist and the straps function as places to plug in your USB devices. We'll just have to see if the writer's imagination turns into reality. Check out the images, the idea is quite novel.

Personal Trainer: Walking makes Nintendo's DSi active with pedometers

nds-ped.jpg
Technology is ever changing and ever growing, I think we are all aware of that. The new DSi has launched recently, but that hasn't kept Nintendo from thinking of what direction it will head in next. David Young, the assistant PR manager for Nintendo of America has given out a brief idea of what the future holds. Apparently, DSi's interaction with the Wii might be on the cards, but there was no elaboration on this. However, what you can definitely expect is that the DSi will be pairing up with pedometers. This will ship with the Personal Trainer: Walking title. You can import a Mii character for the very first time from the Wii and the devices will connect wirelessly with the console. So this is another effort on Nintendo's part to keep gamers up and active. Maybe we can lose some weight with this.

Hello Kitty Electric Pencil Sharpener - A plug-in device for pointed leads

hello_kitty_sharpner.jpgI haven't used a pencil since my school days, so a sharpener is of no worth to me. However, I'd definitely buy this one. Why? It's a Hello Kitty Electric Pencil Sharpener! Completely useless, but great for my collection of Hello Kitty trinkets. And it is kind of cool, because all you gotta do is plug in the sharpener and jam the pencil in it to have your work done for you. Let's not forget about all the wood shavings, there's a waste-basket for it, that can easily be cleaned by taking it out. The Hello Kitty Electric Pencil Sharpener looks adorable in all the pink it sports. You can buy it for $4 here.

Bless Automatica Remote Control Car with iPod Speakers - Music on wheels

Bless Automatica Remote Control Car with iPod Speakers.jpg
I didn't think I'd see the day when iPods speakers and remote control cars are companions. However that day is here. I don't think I should be surprised, because in this era we are witnessing some really bizarre combination of electronics. Bless Automatica has followed this norm with the Remote Control car with iPod Speakers. What you need to do is place the speakers in the back, then take the remote control car for a spin. The best part is that the speakers remain intact, no tipping over. Another thing is that the car is capable of holding a CD holder or a tray. Imagine getting the car to serve tea to your guests? Certainly replaces the need of a boring old butler. You can buy it at here for $370.

Enjoy chocolate minus the calories with Le Whif Chocolate Inhaler

Le_whif.jpgWe all love chocolate, but most of us consider it a sin and can't get rid of the guilt pangs after devouring a yummy chocolate bar. Le Whif has come to our rescue however. It's a chocolate inhaler that combines chocolate and aerosol science with zero calories. Harvard professor David Edwards and his students had conducted an experiment last year with the concept of "eating habits to their logical conclusion." So something good has come out of this culinary experimentation. Hopefully, the chocolate will be delicious and it will satisfy our taste buds without the side effects of those evil calories. Maybe eventually all junk food will be converted into inhalers. Who knows? Le Whif can be bought here for $54. Go indulge!
