24-hour party heels are here
|
If you are a party girl who just can't do without her high heels, you know the agony the morning after a party can bring. You will no doubt thank Aimie Whiting, a student from a New Zealand university who has been observing party behavior and has come up with three-inch polyurethane high heels, which compress when they are worn, and relieve pressure on sore feet. She is a party girl herself, so she knows exactly how painful it used to be to shake a leg on the dance floor. She says, "Fashion shouldn't have to hurt! I like wearing high heels, and I like going out - I thought, there has got to be some way to make them comfortable." Her design cushions, which sit beneath the heel and ball of the foot, compressing and expanding like squash balls underfoot. Since the plastic extends down inside the hard outer layer of the shoe's heel, it allows the shoe to flex slightly with every step. Unfortunately, the 24-hour party heels are only a prototype at the moment. Hopefully, they will be available soon and we can heave a sigh of relief.
