Philips develops clothing that reacts to wearer's emotions
|

We all know how bizarre fashion can be. The runways of Milan and Paris have borne testimony to many a freak shows that have been put up by the elite designers. To cater to such whimsical designers Philips have come out with a cloth material that reacts to your emotions. Whims aside I sure would not want anyone to know that I’m felling embarrassed, let alone my dress. Imagine you had a lot of beans for breakfast and unfortunately you break wind in public. Luckily for you everyone thinks the guy sitting two rows behind is the culprit. But wait a minute your dress just changed colors because you are guilty as hell and are blushing!! Gosh what a whim of a dress. This "blushing dress" consists of two layers: an inner layer that detects the wearer’s emotional state, and an outer layer that reacts with lights and colors. The blushing dress is just one garment developed as part of the SKIN research project, a project setup to try to incorporate more "analog" and organic phenomena into our increasingly digital lifestyle.
What it thankfully means is that you won't be able to pick up a blushing dress at Bloomingdale's anytime soon, as it's pretty much just a well-funded art project.
