Virtual Mirror at Bloomingdales Dresses you up!
|

The idea of trying out too many outfits before you pick the perfect one may scare plenty of shoppers. No wonder many women prefer to take their friends along to take their opinion. Keeping this perspective in mind the Virtual Mirror developed by IconNicholson, an interactive design firm, has been installed in the New York Bloomingdales store. Nanette Lepore has brought in this mirror so that customers can virtually try out the clothes without having to change into them. These reflectors are actually function like a three-part, high-resolution digital screen that projects a virtual image of selected fashions onto the potential buyer. This image can be then forwarded to a special web page where it can be accessed by family and friends; and their opinion of the outfit can be assessed. The Tokyo and Las Vegas stores will soon be getting the Virtual Mirror.
This concept does have its novelty quotient, but don’t see many buyers indulging in this after its initial craze wears out. Nothing can replace Girls’ Day out at Retail Therapy!
