A recent research has proved that combining a low calorie diet that includes desert for breakfast will help you lose those extra pounds. So binging on cookies, crèmebruleeand cake is all allowed now! Sweet! During the research, scientists put 144 obese people on a low carb, low calorie diet (1,400 calories for women, 1,600 calories for men) which were same for both parties, barring a high carbohydrate, protein-enriched breakfast with a choice of cookies, chocolate, cake or ice cream in one of the diet. By the end of the first 16-week period, both the groups lost about 32 pounds on an average. The 16 week follow up saw the desert party lose 13 extra pounds while the other group gained back all but 3.5 pounds of the weight they lost. It’s pretty startling, really and I don’t really care to know how. But if you do, then you must watch out for the full study that is going to feature in the March 10 issue of the journal Steroids.
