Droplets Wall Clock sets itself apart from the traditional ones

dropletclock.jpgSometimes time really seems to have halted and moves forward only drop by drop. Keeping this in mind, we have the "drop by drop" wall clock to measure time. The larger drop counts minutes and the smaller one shows hours. It's a really innovative design that I've never seen before. The water drops will look great on any wall and the clock will be right at home no matter what the decor is. It's not a very loud design and perfect for those who like elegance. I'm not sure if it's gone into production yet, but I sure hope it has. Such designs need to be promoted.

Stylish bike racks by Tractor and Kirkiles

bike stand.jpgIf you are into cycling, you will always appreciate a nice place to stand your bike. Mike Towers of Studio Tractor Architecture has teamed up with metalworker Peter Kirkiles to give us cotter pin-inspired bike rack built in conjunction with Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum's new exhibition Bike Rides. You will find the racks in front of the museum on display and they will be on sale in stainless steel over at the gift shop. "The [goal of] the exhibition was to consider the new relevance of the bicycle today, as public interest in it grows," says Towers. "Artists and fabricators were invited to participate. Our contribution of the bike rack design grew out of our longstanding collaboration with Peter Kirkiles," he continues. "We know Peter from Cranbrook where our paths crossed, and we share a similar sensibility when it comes to detail and expression: utility, strength and simplicity. Materials and their properties are directly expressed." I like the simple yet stylish design of the racks. The red and white is a nice contrast of colors. The show opens today at the Ridgefield, Connecticut, museum, so don't miss it.

Artificial Virginity Hymen is a bizarre adult toy

hymen1.jpg
This is a rather sensitive subject, so I'll try my best to be subtle about it. Many cultures suppress a women's sexuality and hold that the girl needs to have her virginity intact before the marital vows are spoken. For those who have already broken this 'rule', there exists the Artificial Virginity Hymen. The diaphragm is designed to break and discharge fluid that looks like blood during intercourse. However, people might use it as a toy instead of to avoid life-long stigmatization. That makes sense as it is being marketed on a website that sells sex toys. Certain people have certain fetishes and this time seems to cater to one of those. Girls can easily lie to their boyfriends or husbands now. Manipulation is the name of the game, huh? Artificial Virginity Hymen is available for around $30.

Mustache Sisters look quirky

moustachesister.jpgMaybe you are wondering what outfit you should be sporting this Halloween? It looks like Aya Kakeda and Nina Frenkel, the Mustache Sisters already have a pretty cool costume. I don't know if it's specifically for Halloween or they just love dressing this quirky all year round. They seem like some outrageous type of Siamese twins. I'm liking it however. Joint by the Moustache!

2009 Ig Nobel prizes honors a bra that transforms into gas marks

brammask.jpg Bras can be weapons of seduction, but I had no idea they could also protect you from deadly gases. However, Dr Elena Bodnar won the public health prize of the 2009 Ig Nobel prizes for the bra that, in an emergency, can be converted into two gas masks. It's bizarre that's for sure. She demonstrated her invention and gave one to each of the Nobel laureates as a gift. I'm sure they are going to keep them around in case of an emergency. This invention seems like something out of a sci-fi movie trying to be raunchy. I can almost see Paris Hilton starring in it. At least its pink and looks hot.

Lady Gaga has her own comic book

ladygaga.jpg Isn't it bad enough that we are constantly assaulted by Lady Gaga songs on the radio? Do we really need a comic book dedicated to her? I don't know what drove artist Brian Einersen to do something so annoying, but we have the comic book that is sold exclusively at Marc Jacobs stores for just $2. The book has a black-and-white cover which features a brunette gal pinned to a crucifix that references St. John, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior. For a second I thought they were taking a jab at religion. I think even Betty and Veronica can't get as annoying as this.

It looks super cute and you can place it anywhere that needs to be brightened up. All you have to do is press it up and it will light up beautifully. If you don't like harsh light, this will be perfect for you as it emits a soft and warn glow. It might make for a nice geeky and romantic evening. Who needs candles? You can buy it for $20 here.

RelationStick to monitor timeouts in tiffs

relationstick.jpg
If you have anger issues, there's no need to enroll into anger management classes. Simply get yourself a RelationStick. It is a de-escalation tool utilizing time-outs to teach individuals to monitor their own signs of escalating emotion and to interrupt the process that leads to anger. Sounds pretty good on paper, but will holding a stick keep you from turning into Hulk? I don't know seems like people might try to break it. The RelationStick negotiates space and timing during a timeout. The concept is okay, but we will never actually need to purchase the stick.

Lipstick Ball Pen is red hot

penlip.jpg
I don't really have much use for ball point pens as most of my work is done in the digital format. This Lipstick Ball Pen makes me think like it would be the perfect accessory for an overly seductive secretary. The color looks a bit too red for as well. I like the more subtle and pastel shades. However, I'm sure some of you will find it quite handy. You can get it for $5 at Gadget4All. It's a nice item to have in your purse in case of emergencies.

enterusb.jpg
I'm a big fan of geeky item and that's no secret. That's why this Keyboard Keys USB Card Reader hits the right spot with me. The design resembling keyboard keys is really cool. It's compatible with USB 2.0 and supports SDHC, SD, micro SDHC, microSD, Sony M2, Memory Stick, and MS duo cards. It's in the form of a CTRL and Enter key. I think I'll get one to add to my collection of geeky and nerdy stuff. It's quite affordable for $12. You can take your pick in white or blue.

More news on the PS3 Motion Controller

psp3controller.jpg
We all know that the PS3 Motion Controller was a weird looking stick at E3. It has common PlayStation buttons and a trigger now apparently. Also, it has been further revealed that it features the force feedback technology from DualShock 3 controllers and and will run on a lithium-ion battery instead of disposables. Thank god we won't need to rely on disposable batteries. We already know that it revolves around an orb that a PlayStation Eye camera uses to track the player's movements, including distance. You will also find an accelerometer and gyroscope that gauge the wand's relative angle and movement. You can get your hands on it in Spring. I still can't get over how strange it looks.

Acer brings to us a hot Ferrari Notebook

ferrai notebk.jpg
Acer usually fails to impress me unless it's the Ferrari series. So, now is the time for their official and first netbook that is stamped with the bold red of Ferrari. It's not a usual netbook as its specs are quite high compared to most. It features a 11.6-inch screen, dual core AMD L310 processor, 2GB of RAM, LED backlit screen with an HD resolution of 1366 x 768 and all the ports you need with HDMI, VGA, XGP all represented plus 3 x USB 2.0, a webcam, 250GB HDD and it's also 3G ready. That's a whole lot to pack in a netbook. It's set to hit the market on 22nd October for $400. I totally love its stylish looks.
