Doxie sends documents off to the cloud

This week, the Macworld Expo saw the launch of Doxie which is a cheap, simple and easy-to-use document scanner. It’s very slim, portable and uses USB bus-power to turn paper into PDFs, jpegs or lossless png files. Before I get into the technical specifications, I’ll tell you that it looks absolutely adorable. I love the cute little hearts it features. Now for the more important stuff. The device scans can be done at up to 600dpi in 24bit color, and as fast as 12 seconds per page. Nothing too fancy here. However, if you use Doxie’s cloud service, you can store pictures and documents and have their URLs shared or Tweeted automatically. The best part is that it’s quite cheap. It will be available in late march.
