ECG Necklace: The new way to continuously monitor your heart

It’s true when they say health is wealth. As long as you have health on your side, there’s nothing to stop you. It’s most important to make sure that your heart is healthy and to make it easy for you to keep a check on your most vital organ, the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, IMEC has introduced a new prototype cardiac monitoring system. It is an ECG necklace that gives you long term ambulatory readings to get a full picture of a patient’s cardiac electrophysiological health, all while running on a set of batteries for up to seven days. I won’t go into the technical specifications of how it was made, because I doubt more than a few of us our engineers. However, rest assured, this is a good way to make sure you are fit and healthy, so keep it close to your heart!
