Hand-held portable bread toaster is good, on-the-go concept
|

The Hand-held portable toaster by Korean designer Been Kim is more like a controversial concept than a feasible one. As you can see, it can be run on a bread slice like a butter knife and toasts it in your hand! There’s an LCD read-out at the back which tells you how toasty your loaf is. What can turn heads is the fact that it is wireless and uses a cord-free charging system.
Looking at it in another perspective, this concept could be particularly dangerous as it is to be used on the hand, so there is a potential risk of customers burning their fingers. Also, we don’t know how practical this design concept will be because it is uncanny to expect people toasting bread slices at bus stands or trams. Nevertheless, it has opened new doors for better prototypes.
