Home Base from Audiovox lets you leave a meassage on it
|

What do you do if you want mom to know about your plans of the day, or ask her a favor…you leave a note on the fridge and she's sure to catch it. In fact many families communicate a lot of important stuff via a note on the fridge. Now since we live in a high-tech world, it's only natural that someone will get a brainwave and hit on the idea of adding technology to the concept. Audiovox is coming out with a device called the Home Base that has camera, microphone and a 7-inch LCD screen so that your notes can become audio-visual…i.e. you record your messages onto it. Home Base can be mounted anywhere or it can sit on the counter, but it requires an AC to run it; although the box includes three different wire covers, white, black and clear. The internal 512 MB of memory can be upped via a USB thumb drive, or any flash memory card format sans Memory Stick.
Home Base is covered with a clear acrylic sheet that you can write on with the included marker. It will be in stores for Mother's Day and will cost $200. An audio-only version is for $150.
