Make a temperature sensitive coaster for your next DIY project
|

I'm one of those people who just can't stand beverages being too hot. I need my tea/coffee to be luke warm. But it's hard to tell unless you take a sip and by then your tongue can suffer a third degree burn! However, you can avoid that if you have some colored LEDs and a temperature sensor, because that's all you need to build a handy temperature sensitive coaster. The one featured in this article turns red if the drink is very hot, green if it is perfect and white when it has gone too cold. Also, you can get a tilt switch to re-calibrate the "just right" setting every time you make a drink. I need to thank whoever came up with this brilliant yet easy to put together concept. You can check out the detailed and step by step instructions at Instructables.
