The Floating Garden by Duende Studio is more convenient than an aquarium

Aquariums are great as decorative pieces as well as being of therapeutic value. But the Floating Garden concept by Duende Studio takes this a step further. At the moment it is a limited edition prototype and it will only be available next year for purchase. It is a miniature ecosystem created by designer Benjamin Graindorge for small homes and spaces. He has only used aquaponics and a gravel-based filtration system which is 100% natural. This eliminates the problem of taking care of the waste in aquariums. Gravel-based filtration allows water to seep through a 2″ layer of sand. Also, bacteria and larger impurities will be taken away as well as nitrogen, which in turn will become a nitrate. Due to aquaponics, roots of the water-based plants will use the nitrates to grow. Then the water is recirculated through the aquarium properly. This is a really nice concept as the plants use the waste of the aquarium for their benefit. The Floating Garden looks great as well.
