iPhone, an avant-garde communication device unveiled by Apple

Unless you've been living under a rock without an Internet connection, you are probably aware that Apple has been play around with the idea of iPhone since many years. Officially introduced by Apple, iPhone is a slim (11.6mm thin ), sleek, light weighted, handheld, versatile gizmo that combines three products- a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large (a 3.5-inch ) multi-touch display and pioneering new software (Mac OS X operating system), letting you control everything with just your fingers. It’s almost as if ‘your wish is my command’ kinds!

It includes support for quad-band GSM, EDGE, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR wireless technologies. The iPhone also sports a built-in 2 megapixel camera and will work with Macs or PCs. It integrates many more sophisticated features like an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. Cingular has bagged the authority of being the exclusive carrirer. The 4GB iPhone model will sell for $499, while the 8GB model will sell for $599 from June onwards. Our pals in Europe and Asia will have to wait till late 2007 and 2008 respectively. It ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.
