Yamaha-KDDI collaboration results in suave musical phones
|

KDDI’s designing studio in Harajuko unveiled some nice mobile phone concepts in an exhibition recently. The collaboration between Yamaha and KDDI culminated in an array of nifty devices that were a fusion of musical instruments and mobile phones. The one to start with is “Band in my pocket”, a mobile phone with five modules, from a bass module to a trumpet module. “Trio in your Hand” that has been designed for a easier game play, features a third interface that lets you scratch like a DJ with a special pad. “Box to Play” is a stylish cube shaped phone featuring a camera in the middle of the phone, speakers as well as a touch pad for scratching.
“Sticks in the Air”, apt for drum enthusiasts, allows drum playing as the phone separatesinto two drum sticks. For the piano lovers, it’s the “Key to Touch” which hosts a finger board for piano playing. Last but not the least, is the “Strings for fingers” (you could guess from the name) is a slide phone for playing guitar. I’m already enticed, only if I could attend the live ‘concert’ of these products in Tokyo on August 31!
