Pioneer MT-01 Power Line Sound System for Sound all around

The thought of the wireless sound systems is mind-blowing. The MT-01 Power Line Sound System from Pioneer is a new sound system that transmits sound through household electricity lines and not conventional speaker wires. Great idea! Its units link up together to 6 networked speakers through your electrical supply. If you’ve got a plug socket in your room, you can pick up music by just plugging in a speaker. The Sound Station control unit can transmit one or two audio sources to any of the connected speakers round your home. It also features motion sensors which will turn the speakers on when someone enters the room and you can control the music through any of the speakers using the remote.

The household electric circuit acts as a sound conduit, ‘piping’ the music via the Sound Station from one electric socket to another, from one room to another. Music explodes from up to six 25W “vase” speakers or 5W “cup” speakers around your home. Extra vases and cups are available separately to fill out your pad. Whilst power line communication is not a new technology, it’s application to the home audio environment where you can enjoy background music in multiple rooms, without having to add complex speaker cabling is interesting. The system also sports a stylish, unobtrusive look, so it can blend or you can say even disappear into your home interior, whatever the décor be! $700 (£350) is all that is needed to get your hands on this one.
