Smartparts present 32-inch WiFi digital photo frame.

smartparts_sp3200wf.jpg
Size matters and it really does in the case of Smartparts' SP3200WF, a 32-inch WiFi digital photo frame. It can be easily dubbed as the world’s hugest WiFi digital photo frame. I wonder who would really go for a size this big. Has to be a rather self obsessed person or could be a great gift for a photographer for his gallery or something. Other than that I think buying a 32-inch LCD TV would be a better use of our grey cells and green money. This monster of a digital photo frame packs a 1,366 x 768 resolution, natural wood frame with espresso finish, an SD / MS / CF multicard reader, RF remote support, and also the ability to play back slideshows, videos, PDFs and even PowerPoint files. It’s among the firm's first to integrate with Windows Live Photo Gallery, and the built-in RSS reader keeps your eyes occupied when the snaps grow stale. No info on pricing yet but its very obvious it is gonna scream the word expensive.

Sony to come up with new reader in red…rumour or reality?

red-sony-reader_1.jpg
Ok its speculation time again! What we have here is a spy shot of something that looks like a Sony reader. Whether it is a new one or just the old model in a hot new colour is what the whole deal is about. The rumour mills are churning as fast as ever. I’m a happy person if this is a new model as I have been waiting for one since quite sometime. Even if they are just coming up with just a new range of colours then I’m pining my hopes on better colours. Can’t say anything for now but would like to know what you guys think. Is this fact or fiction?

Sony’s latest advertisement for PS3 is hogwash targeting women!

sony_ps3_ad.jpg
Sony’s latest advertisement is more like art created by their marketing department. It is abstract and the idea is concealed only to be unlocked by a true art connoisseur. But who the hell wants art in an advertisement? If they wouldn’t have had the words Playstation 3 etched on the side I wouldn’t have known in forty lives what this whole thing is all about. All I can see is a skinny girl almost anorexic standing inside the pants of three men whose bodies are half cut probably cause this girl is dumb enough to think that she might fit in their pants so she rips them apart. On second thoughts may be she wants to flaunt how slender she really is, so she chooses do to so by a comparison in their sizes, and she does look very frail in those large pants. If that’s the ides then it works.

Plia Designs introduce Luxe iPhone/BlackBerry Cases!

plia_phone-case2.jpg
If you are not a bling person and rhinestones are the last thing you would want for your phone or its cover then you would want to know more about Plia Designs and their Luxe iPhone/BlackBerry Cases. Being a self-confessed rhinestone over I’m never going for this as I think its simple, all right, but I do doubt its functionality too. Plia Designs is banking on the fact you really want to protect your cell phone when it's in your bag, or another place it might get jostled and obviously they couldn’t think of anything better than this little book look-alike, with elastic bands to hold your phone inside.

Japanese girls fixated to virtual boyfriend Webkare.

webkare-conversation-1.jpg
I, by some means find it difficult to comprehend the fixation of Japanese girls over virtual boyfriends who, jokes apart, look like girls themselves. I do agree that girls would kill for a guy who doesn’t speak against their opinion but he should be existent in any case. WebkareYour browser may not support display of this image. (Web Boyfriend in Japanese), a mix between a social network and dating simulation site, is Nippon’s newest web sensation. Geared exclusively towards girls, the site attracted over 10,000 members just 5 days after its release on September 10, racking up 3.5 million page views in the same time frame. Going by that number I do feel miserable for the Japanese guys especially after thousands of girls going gaga over virtual imaginary boyfriends. Girls choose between one of four different male cartoon characters they want to hook up with upon registration. They can then “communicate” with their digital crush in cartoon-like sequences to try to win over his heart over the course of the game.

Aluminium folding travel hanger a boon for globetrotters!

blowup_hangers.jpg
Globetrotters and people practically living out of a suitcase can now unpack in style. I am not a very good packer myself but for the ones who are on the go 24x7 it is necessary to carry their clothes and also keep them well. You obviously cannot carry more hangers or hangers at all so you could probably solve the problem by going the aluminium folding travel hanger route. They take up considerably a lesser amount of span in your suitcase when deflated and is great for people who can’t do without their suits. Keeping them in that suitcase can surely ruin the garment no end.

Japanese master the art of glamorising mobile phones!

glamorising_mobile_phones.jpg
Call it over-the-top, kitsch, or a new art form, love it or hate it but you cannot ignore the dolled up mobile phones, definitely not if you are in Tokyo. You shouldn’t be surprised at all to feel like an outcast if you are using your mobile phone just the way you got it in that sealed box. That’s a definite no-no in Tokyo where dressing up your phone could well be as imperative as dressing yourself. Deco-den has become a rage in Japan and has been decorating mobile phones since 1998. In 2003 and 2005, they became slightly popular, and this year there has been a wave of demand for decorated mobiles. There are embellished with the use of decorative wrappers that are more like adhesive sheets with designs printed on one side that stick right onto the mobile. But nothing beats my favourite rhinestones. They look absolutely stunning and I would love to go for one any day anytime.

Lessev Mobile Station veils those wires and keeps your space clean!

lessev-mobile-station-1.jpg
The Lessev Mobile Station may be something on the lines of a godsend gift for people who are drowning in gadgets and their respective cords. But to me it’s nothing more than a plastic tub with a few punched holes designed by Takafumi Nemoto. What this glorified and gadgetfied tub does goes as follows. All of the cords stay inside the container connected to a single power source, and all of your gadgets sit on top of the silicone lid which keeps the connection ends accessible without looking sloppy.

Epidermits toy is scary and a perfect partner for punks!

epidermits_toy_1.jpg
Ugly, confusing and daunting are just a few adjectives that describe the Epidermits toy. I dunno which kid would like to befriend this ugly creature but given that it has already been made we might as well check it out. As part of their Cautionary Visions project, KD designers (Karten Design firm) wanted to focus on how gadget design can get off track when the focus on real human interactions is lost. So they came up with a few gadgets that would be obscene, but also feasible. I dunno how many parents would want this robotic thing with human-like tissue organism covering its body and tattoos and piercing to accompany their child. What a madcap creation, the epidermits toy is more like an epidemic! A toy for punks!

Cuisinart popcorn popper for popcorn people!

cuisinart_popcorn_popper.jpg
Just in case you are a popcorn loving geek then you have to get yourself this nice-looking Cuisinart popcorn popper. It’s good enough to make me bend my I -love-microwave-popcorn rule and opt for a popcorn maker instead. It aint just any popcorn maker, the built-in ventilation system and stirring mechanism ensures even heat distribution for the kernels. In fact, it can make about 10 cups of popcorn in just 5 minutes. It also allows me to watch the popping popcorns which I feel is the best part of the popcorn making process through a large acrylic see-through dome. Conveniently the dome doubles as a handy serving bowl when inverted. If you are deprived of a microwave but can manage to shell out $69.95 then make place for Cuisinart popcorn maker in your kitchen.

Self-Sustainable Chair is a dress that inflates into a chair!

bubble-butt-chair.jpg
Have you ever felt the need to sit as soon as start walking? If your answer is no like mine then make sure that you are not wearing the Self-Sustainable Chair. Though called a chair it is in point of fact a dress or is it the other way round? Either way Self-Sustainable Chair is a wearable piece of furniture which is a dress where the butt inflates into a chair through pumps in the shoes. The brainchild of artist and interactive designer, JooYoun Paek, the provocative art piece will “transform the monotonous experiences produced by routine walking commutes into an entertaining interactive performance.”

Triple Capacitor Necklace is a fashion disaster!

3-capacitor_necklace_1.jpg
You gotta be strictly audacious and a little tasteless to sport this not-so-impressive-at-any-sight Triple Capacitor Necklace. As the name implies very visibly it is a necklace made of three teal capacitors connected together. They also come with a pair of awful blue earrings that complete your geeky and kitschy look to the T. The chain is a fine gauge, cable link steel chain adjustable from 18″ to 21″ via a sizing chain in the back. Though hardly recognizable as electronic components, the one thing that people would surely recognize is your lack of selection. But if you can’t think of something else to fritter $42 on ($30 for necklace and $12 for earrings), you can go for these Teal Triple Capacitor Necklace and earrings.

Research reveals that roughly 31,544 mobile phones have been left in New York Cabs in the last six months!

new-york-taxi.jpg
This makes for a very interesting read and the credit goes to the long list of forgetful, absent-minded people who left behind not just their phones but also laptops, iPods, memory sticks etc. Credant Technologies announced survey results that indicate passengers in New York’s Yellow Taxicabs have left behind an astounding 31,544 mobile phones and within a short span of just six months. The survey figures were based on 300 New York yellow licensed taxi drivers and extrapolated amongst 13,087 yellow licensed taxi cabs in Manhattan New York. In London the figures were based on interviews with 300 London licensed taxi drivers and then extrapolated amongst the number of licensed taxi cabs in London which is 21,729.

EyeToy Kinetic Fitness Game comes with USB camera!

eye-toy-kinetic-fitness-game.jpg
Though some might term the EyeToy Kinetic Fitness Game as a desperate shot for winning back the lost gamers to Nintendo by Sony, I would beg to differ and let Sony get the credit for making something truly commendable. EyeToy Kinetic is an innovative new physical exercise gaming title produced in association with Nike Motionworks. It has been designed to help the player improve their fitness and health using a variety of exercise games, whatever that person’s fitness level is. Much improved and superior to those old age home workout videos this contrivance comes with a diminutive digital camera that sits on top of your TV and plugs into your PS2.
