7th Grader who sent Hello Kitty to Space, wins award at School Science Fair
Remember the experiment “The effects of altitude on air pressure and temperature” by a 7th grader that sent Hello Kitty to space in a rocket? The talented teenager has now been declared one of four top award winners at Cornerstone Christian School’s seventh-grade science fair. An award well deserved by 13 year old Lauren Rojas who is one of two winners in the physical science category for her weather balloon’s 90-minute test of the effects of air pressure and temperature. The popularity of the project video gained popularity and also received national and international media attention, including from Canada, India and the Discovery Channel.

For those who think the popularity got Rojas the award, it wasn’t even a consideration. The standards for the project were based on a poster board display of the project, a written report, and an oral presentation. She is now gearing up to compete at the regional competition. Best of luck Hello Kitty Fan may you succeed in not bringing her back this time.
