A $1.5 pill a day helps you drop a dress size in 6 months
|

Stuff that helps people Lose weight without workouts and physical activity is the most sought after fixation these days and there’s yet another entrant in this market. The £1-a-day drug is called Alli and it can help a woman rapidly drop a dress size in a matter of a few months. The mechanism behind weight loss is the potential of the drug to prevent the body from absorbing the consumed fat which makes a person lose 10lbs in 6 months. Apparently Europe’s medicine watch dog has also given a green card to this pill and its all set to go on sale in the summer of 2009. During tests it was established that slimmers who took the pill with every meal typically lost 50% more weight than those who relied on will power. (I don’t buy that piece of info and I won’t buy the pill either)
We all know that every medication is supplemented by side-effects and Alli is no different. The next logical question that you would put up is: Where does the fat go if it’s not absorbed? The obvious answer is, it passes through the body as stools, which results in an urgent need to go to the bathroom. The drug is also said to disrupt the absorption of vitamins, which is why slimmers are asked to supplement their diet with multi-vitamin pills. The sales of the pills in the US in the first year totaled $585 million.
