Actroid DER2 fembot is smartened up

A fem (bot) on rent! Girls don’t get envious…..she’s just a robot! Take a look at Japan’s love affair for all things humanoid, and how the devices are making inroads in merging into Japanese society. Americans will put a microchip on a vacuum cleaner and call it a robot, whereas the Japanese are obsessed with bipedal humanoids and are attempting to create robots in man’s image. Kokoro (a Sanrio Group company) undraped its hottest Actroid DER2 feminine guide robot at Sanrio headquarters in Tokyo. It is an improvised version of Kokoro’s previous fembot- Actroid DER who has gain popularity for herself by providing services at a number of events, including the 2005 World Expo. Compared to the previous model, DER2 has thinner arms and a wider repertoire of expressions. She too seems to love Hello Kitty… in the pictures we see her sporting a Hello Kitty T-shirt.

The smoothness of her movement has also been improved, making it now even more likely for the uninitiated to confuse her with an actual human being. You’ll be amazed to know that it is found that people forget she is an android while interacting with her. Consciously, it is easy to see that she is an android, but unconsciously, people react to the android as if she were a woman.
