Anatomically accurate model of brain made out of wool
|

Human brain is the most intricate part of the body, both by mechanism and by structure. Psychiatrist Karen Norberg of the National Bureau of Economic research in Cambridge, Massachusetts has knitted an anatomically correct model of the human brain. Using 100 percent cotton yarn, the woolen brain is 9 inches at its longest excluding the spinal cord of course. She began by creating the separate elements of the 1.5 scale brain such as the brainstem, the cerebellum, the deep structures involved in memory and emotion that were color coded to identify them which took almost a year. Karen’s brain art caused such a stir among her colleagues that the Boston museum of Science now has a permanent exhibit of the incredible brain art.
When asked about furthering her brilliant brain art, she said “I’m thinking of posters or T-shirts, but I’m not so sure whether people would want to walk around with the knitted brain on the front of their T shirt.” Well Karen I wouldn’t mind having it on my T as I believe, “If you’ve got it, flaunt it!” Moreover, it doesn’t look disgusting, as our brilliant artist managed to knit it out in an anatomically and visually perfect manner!
