Apple smartens up with the anti-theft system!
|

Owning an Apple iPod can be loads of fun but it can make you something of a watchdog too considering the number of ruffians on the prowl. And believe it or not an Apple iPod can be a great steal too but not anymore as Apple has come up with an anti-theft system that will put the stolen iPods low on the popularity charts of the thieves. The patent, titled "Protecting electronic devices from extended unauthorized use," outlines an extremely (probably) useful technique of authenticating itself with certain user-approved power supplies and devices so that it can only be charged by those devices. That can be quite a pain if you really think about it.
Imagine yourself chilling with your folks and you run out of battery all you can do is sulk as you haven’t carried your very own charger. That can be quite a lackluster situation. But then again there is a price you gotta pay if you want the thief to be away. And if you were wondering what happened to the iPod after you stole it; I guess I have answered the question!
