Bus stop swing set brings play back to serious adult life
|

We're aware of the well-known proverb that declares, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Shouldering a thousand responsibilities and working several hours a day, most days of the year, we've nearly forgotten childhood as a fundamental part of our development, until our off springs come by to hark back those pleasant memories. Designer Bruno Taylor, who has recently completed his masters at Industrial Design at Central Saint Martin has made an attempt to bring back some sort of liveliness all through the leisure waiting time of bus commuters at the stop.
You ask me how he did it? It was by attaching swings to a number bus shelters in and around London city. While few may raise an eyebrow to this idea of unconventional social work, I can only be amazed at his thoughtful approach as I'm pretty much of a swing person myself. Only if he could fix one at the bus shelter I stop by everyday. Lucky Londoners I say!
Also check out the video after the jump where the swings are fixed and commuters take a crack at them soon after.
