Facebook soon to add real world gifts with credits as exchange rate

Facebook, the social networking behemoth had created quite a stir in the internet community when it had previously introduced the Blue GPS shoes a couple of months ago. Now it has decided to go one step further some hardcore commercial activity. Facebook is about to introduce the Facebook Gifts application that would allow users to sent actual gifts via the virtue of third party developers. That would enable users to purchase real life gifts with Facebook credits wherein, the exchange rate is predetermined as $1 for every 10 credits. Among the first to collaborate with Facebook will be American Greetings Interactive, GreetBeatz, Someecards, and Real Gifts who will have their respective logos on the gifts.
This idea will initially be launched as a test, but its imminent success could pose a serious threat to electronic money transfer agent PayPal as well, a feat that could allow Facebook currency to be used for purchasing items on site across the web.
