Pink Rifle from Gunbroker.com raises funds to fight breast cancer

Everyone seems to be joining the good cause of fighting against breast cancer. The latest member is GunBroker.com. They recently held a charity auction of a pink rifle. Guns and pink don’t really go hand in hand, but if it’s pink, you got to love it. This rather unique pretty rifle raided $3,575. In October, the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, GunBroker.com held a two-week long online auction. The official word from the site is, “This charity auction supports the fundraising goals of the GunBroker.com Family Team to help in the fight against breast cancer, one of the leading causes of death in women around the world. Although many of our buyers and sellers are men, they are touched by this disease through their wives, mothers and daughters. We wanted to do our part to help improve treatment and save lives.” On Breast Cancer Day 3 employees and family members participated in the cause in a 60-mile walk.
The benefits of this went to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (www.komen.org), which provides non-profit funds for breast cancer research, treatment, education and prevention programs; and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund (www.nptrust.org), which provides ongoing support to breast cancer initiatives. Definitely a good contribution, but by selling a weapon!
