PR2 Robot Scoops up poop in your living room
Who likes to do the dirty work in the house? Especially poop cleaning of dogs and babies. There is a robot that is actually designed for the task of Poop Scoop. Developed by Roboticists at the University of Pennsylvania’s Grasp Lab, the Project called Perception Of Offensive Products and Sensorized Control Of Object Pickup is training the robot PR2 to recognize and handle POOP’s or Potentially Offensively Objects for Pickup, which actually includes real poop. Here’s a video that demonstrates how the guy actually does the job by carefully finding and picking up all the POOP’s in a given area. It is also capable of sensing whether the robot has delivered the poop in its bucket. This adds more responsibility to the PR2 aka Graspy that is already assigned to do many more house chores.
