Self-Sustainable Chair is a dress that inflates into a chair!
|

Have you ever felt the need to sit as soon as start walking? If your answer is no like mine then make sure that you are not wearing the Self-Sustainable Chair. Though called a chair it is in point of fact a dress or is it the other way round? Either way Self-Sustainable Chair is a wearable piece of furniture which is a dress where the butt inflates into a chair through pumps in the shoes. The brainchild of artist and interactive designer, JooYoun Paek, the provocative art piece will “transform the monotonous experiences produced by routine walking commutes into an entertaining interactive performance.”
Featured at Conflux Festival, her idiosyncratic and captivating project suggests that rest and walk can be balanced by re-thinking the function of what we wear. I doubt its feasibility in day-to-day life but the couch potatoes can now move out wearing the Self-Sustainable Chair and park themselves whenever they want (practically all the time!)
