Skinny models don’t help to sell products

skinny-model.jpgI am all for a good and fit body and totally hate the latest ‘size zero’ fad. I mean seriously it just disgusts me to see such young girls risking their health and future to look malnourished! So I am really happy with the latest studies and campaigns that are banning these size zero models. In her study psychologist Phillippa Diedrichs, of the University of Queensland, Australia, has found that skinny models are actually a turn off to consumers in TV commercials and other advertising. This experiment was carried out quite uniquely by showing around 400 women the same ads once using a size 8 skinny model and once a size 12 model. The ads didn’t seem to have any effect on the women, however when the women aged between 18 and 25 saw the adverts they felt better, and were more likely to buy after viewing the images of the larger models. Thanks to this experiment once again it can be proved that the ugly trend of ‘size zero’ models is definitely not a favorite with the people. So its time for all add film makers to re think their marketing strategies.Like miss Diedrichs argues, ‘Often people make the argument that thinness sells, and that’s why they use slim models. But we can change the images we see and still sell products but also make people feel better about themselves’.

So lets get together and fight this fad before we lose all our fat!
