Float-a-Pet: I hope they are seriously joking

float-a-pet.jpg
I really wonder why people come up with certain unnecessary products. You know they are never going to sell but still they are everywhere, laughing in your face from every shop window. Take for instance this really unnecessary product- Float-a-Pet, which is a dog collar designed to blow up into a float upon contact with water. I have only one-question here- do dogs, known to be born swimmers really need this ugly thing? I mean it might end up choking the little dog! And incase the thing bursts you can very well be assured of a doggie heart attack! And here is the amazing concept behind this product: upon contact with water the collar will fire compressed CO2 into a plastic bag, simultaneously floating the lucky wearer.

This technologically challenged product has a solar powered component which charges by day and flashes LEDs by night, or when the dog is in the water. But what has won the most laughs is this statement on their product page- 'or example, in the event of a hurricane or slipping into a pool'. I can't believe they are selling this product as safety gear for your dogs during a hurricane! Please be sensible and just read this article as a joke and don't even consider torturing your four-legged buddy with this collar!
