HP Mini 1140NR Vivienne Tam - Review

The moment I had seen the pictures of this chic lappie on the net, I was in love with it. I was itching to lay my hands all over the red hot HP Mini 1140NR Vivienne Tam. So as soon as the neatly packed red box arrived on my doorstep, I didn't miss a second to open it in haste and get the first glimpse of this special edition notebook. At first glance, it looks more like a floral red clutch that most of the fashionistas might consider carrying. Splattered with peony flowers on the all-red lid, the design triumphs in sticking the perfect balance between Asian and western look. However I pulled up the reins of my excitement over its gorgeous appearance and decided to focus on the role of the product as well. Sporting a petit size (10.5″ long x 6.5″ wide x 1″ thick only), this 2.5 pound baby will easily fit in the lifestyle of the highly mobile, internet-centric fashion-conscious woman. It is packed with everything that women can ask for.
Research reveals that roughly 31,544 mobile phones have been left in New York Cabs in the last six months!

This makes for a very interesting read and the credit goes to the long list of forgetful, absent-minded people who left behind not just their phones but also laptops, iPods, memory sticks etc. Credant Technologies announced survey results that indicate passengers in New York’s Yellow Taxicabs have left behind an astounding 31,544 mobile phones and within a short span of just six months. The survey figures were based on 300 New York yellow licensed taxi drivers and extrapolated amongst 13,087 yellow licensed taxi cabs in Manhattan New York. In London the figures were based on interviews with 300 London licensed taxi drivers and then extrapolated amongst the number of licensed taxi cabs in London which is 21,729.
Wii Sports Update

Hail Monday morning! I took a break from my Manic Monday schedule and dedicated full three hours to exploring the Wii from my perspective alone. I soon discovered that I could polish my gaming skills with the practice session programs allotted for each of the sports. I can also check my fitness level and equate it with the Wii age. Wii age is simply the age assigned by Wii depending upon your fitness and skill levels. The aim is try to lower your Wii age every time you try out the program. Another cool feature that Wii has is the Photo Channel. Using your SD card you can view your photos as a slide show, draw on them and save your photos to the systems memory. You could share your photos with your list of Wii friends too. There is a lot of fun you can do with the uploaded photos, you could doodle on them, change the mood or create a puzzle out of them. Videos can be viewed through the Photo Channel. With a broadband Internet connection hooked to the Wii you can shop online via the console. The idea is to redeem Wii points to download additional features and games. The Wii Message Board can be used to exchange messages with family and friends, add photos or Mii and check your console’s unique number.
Wii are family!

Sore muscles, aching limbs and sweaty shirts, this is just what I had not expected to land myself into after a session of playing the Wii. Yes, gals I got the latest Wii Sports for my kids, but the poor souls didn’t stand a chance in front of mommy dearest. Well daddy dearest too hogged most of the playtime allotted to the kids, but I guess you can’t blame us for behaving like juvenile delinquents. Well let me run you through the technicalities first and then proceed to the fun part. You need SPACE and I mean plenty of it. The Wii is not the regular video game where you sit in the couch and your wrists and fingers do all the playing. For instance, if you are playing bowling then you need to imitate the actual action, as you would do at the Bowling Alley. Floor space, air space (so that there are no objects sent flying with your golf strokes) and mind space (there is a risk of getting seizures) are all mandatory. Now let’s begin with the fun part. I have five games on my Wii Sports CD, Bowling, Tennis, Boxing, Golf and Baseball. I also got the Sega game Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz; it has one main game (single player) and about fifty party games (up to four players). Somehow the family stuck to the Sports Games and boy did we have a blast! My daughter turned out to be the bowling champion as she scored the maximum number of strikes. My son took to boxing and beat the pulp out of my husband. My husband found his calling in the tennis world and won the championship hands down. As for me, I didn’t know I could tee off so well and am willing to bet my Woods for the golf championship.

Pink iDog is a Lovely Version

Look out! There's a new dog on a musical rampant in town! Sega has unleashed the Pink i-dog - Lovely Version!!! It's not often one gets a little slice of robotics worth $40 in their Christmas stockings but that's what happened to my kid this year when he got a Sega i-dog for a present from Brando. This unique combination of geeky technological wizardry has everybody cooing over it. We have four breathing dog pets in our house….but this one is the most unique! Although it doesn’t breath, it’s the only pet dog who understands the ‘sound of music’. Since the box states, ‘i-dog- my pet loves music too’, my little one immediately connected him to the music system with Do, re, mi, fa….song to start with! i-dog is about a billion times more bright than the previously mentioned robopet. More importantly i-dog is a music lover! In fact i-dog can't live without a few decent toe-tappers. That's because this cute little bow wow feeds on the tunes you play him and develops personalities according to the music he hears. The clear plastic ears wag as the swiveling head moves along to whatever music you're playing. He even functions as a portable speaker for your audio player. Simply plug his connector cord (3.5mm ) into the headphone jack of your audio device…..CD player, stereo, MP3, computer, etc. and watch the mutt dance to your tunes. It also works with ambient music from a stereo or boom box speakers. Toggle his tail to turn off the speaker and listen to music via headphones. He can also use his built-in microphone to listen and react to music from an outside source. i-dog begins life in Puppy Mode but as you feed him he will begin to react to the tunes he hears. You have to get it just right because i-dog really is a discerning little digi-dog. Rock and punk make him rebellious, pop and R&B make him happy and dance music makes him excitable. A series of multicolored lights on his face also exhibit how he is feeling. A blue light on his forehead shows when he needs a musical fix, but you need to get it just right; play too much music and the light patterns will indicate that he is ecstatic; ignore him and they will indicate that he is bored. The i-dog is capable of changing its feelings from happy to angry by moving its ears and rotating the head and by changing the color of the 7 LED lights on its head. Green is happy, orange less so and red unhappy. Plus the lights circle round faster if the i-dog is playful and slower if he is resting.
Arte Luise Kunsthotel: The Comic Room is worth the visit

“Berlin is worth a visit for this art hotel experience alone”-so says The New York Times. I totally agree with them. Take room number 306 for instance. Ever since I saw that video on A-Ha: Take on me, I always wanted to know how it was to live in a cartoon strip. Now live it I will have to travel to Berlin, Germany to the Arte Luise Kunse hotel and stay in room number 306. The rooms are designed just like a comic strip room. There is a characteristic touch to every corner and angle. They all are outlined with a thin hand-drawn black line, just like comic strips. Ceiling, bed, and plugs… the detailing is amazing. They have imitated the colors use in the strips like papaya green walls, sunny yellow rug, lilac bed and pink cupboard. The artists have enhanced the room with graphics and decorations. Unlike comic book rooms this room has the shower room in the hallway.

Walkie Bits - Indian Star (Nature Series) Review

Doctor has advised me to take a few moments out of my busy day to spend some time playing ….to ease of the (blood) pressure….at work! But as we all know, it’s impossible to take a deliberate break and run off time and again. These cutest and the smallest turtles are here to bring out the child in us. I couldn’t believe how small they were till I opened the box up. The name of this little creature is Walkie Bits, released by toy maker Takara in June 2005. To be precise, my pet Walkie Bits is dubbed as the Indian Star (Nature Series). Although it’s a toy, it has functions you would expect to find in a robot! Walkie Bits are just about five centimeters long and come in six candy-like colors, including orange, melon, and soda. These miniature toy turtles are small enough to fit in the palm of the hand and it’s entertaining to see they slowly plod along, stop, and plod along again. This family of turtles has eight fast and slow walking patterns. As well as walking, the toy can also run, play electronic tunes, and move to a rhythm taught to it by us. At least that’s what the instruction manual says. I just poked the turtle's shell and it started to walk, plodding along with its rump wriggling back and forth. Tapping it rhythmically on the shell set it off to the same rhythm too (3 fast taps, 2 slow, 3 fast again). There is sing mode also and race mode, in sing mode where it will play “Leopold Mozart's Toy Symphony”. Walkie Bits can also race against each other, and they always try their best. They don’t only run when they race against other Walkie Bits, they will run for you when you push the shell really fast when in rhythmic mode. To get into rhythmic mode push the shell once while it’s walking. Race mode only works when there are two or more Walkie Bits…so that the racing mood sets in! Any body for laying the bets? Just looking at these cute turtles can help you relax after a tiring day….at least my pet one did!
