HP Mini 1140NR Vivienne Tam - Review

The moment I had seen the pictures of this chic lappie on the net, I was in love with it. I was itching to lay my hands all over the red hot HP Mini 1140NR Vivienne Tam. So as soon as the neatly packed red box arrived on my doorstep, I didn't miss a second to open it in haste and get the first glimpse of this special edition notebook. At first glance, it looks more like a floral red clutch that most of the fashionistas might consider carrying. Splattered with peony flowers on the all-red lid, the design triumphs in sticking the perfect balance between Asian and western look. However I pulled up the reins of my excitement over its gorgeous appearance and decided to focus on the role of the product as well. Sporting a petit size (10.5″ long x 6.5″ wide x 1″ thick only), this 2.5 pound baby will easily fit in the lifestyle of the highly mobile, internet-centric fashion-conscious woman. It is packed with everything that women can ask for.

It has enough computing power to allow the gizmo-divas to check mails, surf net and blog about their passion effortlessly. Don't miss out on the inbuilt webcam that allows your chat friends on the other end to adore your new hairdo. The highlight is the striking and gorgeous red with gold keyboards with sets it apart from the other lappies that sport a colored top but boring black keyboard inside. The peony design also spreads inside the notebook, under the keypad. The laptop also features an extra special enter key that bears the Chinese symbol for double happiness. And since I prefer a cordless mouse even when I work on a laptop, I was more than happy to find a matching Vivienne Tam wireless mouse inside the box. Bad - The webcam quality could have been better as the images captured are darker than normal. Also the price range is daunting. Though the special edition tag justifies the $700, it's a bit too much for just a portable notebook that doesn't pack in features like Photoshop or movie editing software.
