The GreenEmotor, an electric scooter that gives an equivalent of 1,350 miles per gallon on a single charge, the scooter pays for itself in fuel costs after just a few months. “With no oil, zero emissions and very reasonable cost,” this scooter is bound to appeal to those who want to do something for our environment. Comparing the two sources, the electric battery works out to about 12 cents for a single charge, where as you end up paying about $3 for a gallon of gas. The only hitch is that you can’t enter any bike races with them. The lower end models speed up to 30 miles per hour, and the higher-end ones at 42. They can also go only 50 miles in between charges.
The various GEM models range from $2,599 to $3,299
